I know in the past few years juicing has gained tremendous amount of popularity, and so has smoothies, and smoothie “bowls”.
I mean they are so colorful and beautiful, and made with fruits, vegetables, and other super healthy stuff, so they must be really good for us. They are also incredibly fast and easy to make and we can eat it on the go.
however drinking our food is not all that is hyped out to be.
For a while now a lot of people in the nutrition and wellness industry have been talking about the “superfood” Spirulina, and I am sure many of you have been seeing it pop-up of the IG of your favorite nutritional Instagramer.

Rose buds and petals haven been used for ages (dated back 1st to Persia and had been used in Chinese medicine for centuries) for its aroma and healing powers. We all know of its use in skin care, especially for dry and sensitive skin, for the soothing effects and diminishing redness. But did you know it has tons of other health benefits?
The Ketogenic diet is a high fat, moderate protein, and extremely low or no carbohydrates, making your body use fat instead of carbs as fuel. This reduction of carbohydrates forces your body into a state of ketosis, where ketones are buildup in the bloodstream and it is used for running your body instead of glucose.
the ketogenic diet is a good way to kick start your body if you are trying to lose weight. It should be maintained for about 7-10 days, as a way to detox your body of all its excess stored glucose (glycogen), and then slowly adding in your healthy carbs (complex and simple).
for your bodies to actually enjoy all the health benefits of these nuts we have to consume them without their skin. Why? The skin of Almonds has an enzyme inhibitor that protects it until germination.
Soaking almonds in filtered water overnight (or at least eight hours), removes this inhibitor, and not only allows access to its nutrients but it also makes it easier to digest.
I keep mine in the water, switching the old water for fresh filtered water daily. The longer the almond is in the water the easier the skin comes off.
I came across a mother recently who was telling a group of us moms that we need to take snacks and snack time away from our kids, because when it is meal time they will not eat, blaming it all on the snacks they had consumed in between. Also that as a parent you are losing control by allowing kids to eat whenever they want, rather than waiting for their meal.
